An experiment was carried to investigate the influenece of fat content (22 and 26%) in two concentrate mixtures on daily gain in rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) kept in two cages, 125 cubic m in volume, on the Bocac Lake (near Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina). There were 3505 fish with average weight of 194 g in each cage. In the first cage, the trout were fed with extruded mixture with 22% fat; while in the second cage they received feed with 26% fat. Protein conten was 44% in both mixtures. Based on the obtained results it can be concluded that fish fed with 26% fat mixture had better growth (weight, length, and height) than with 22% fat mixture. During the first half of the experiment where conditions were favourable and differences between the two groups were significant (P is less than 0.05) in weight and height, and very significant (P is less than 0.01) in length - in the second part of the experiment, due to decline in weather conditions (water temperaure and two muddy water periods), the differences were not statistically different in the investigated parameters.
