The study has shown the results of possible usage of rotary shoppers for cutting perennial weed in irrigation and drainage channels. The concept of rotary chopper as accessory element on hydraulic dredger has been studied. Taking in consideration dredger characteristics, weight and hydraulic installations the choice of suitable rotary choppers has been made. Special attention has been paid to hydrostatic drive of rotary choppers and the proposal of necessary adaptation of hydralic installation of dredger.
