The condition of ordinary chernozem of Kamenaya steppe under the forest plantations and under steppe landscape hydromorphicity features is considered. The estimate of granulometric and mineralogical compound, composition of humus, morphological soil features are given. Some properties of chernozems have changed under the forest belts of different age (40-70 years) while pH factor has not changed. Extension of humus profile is remarked. Humus content in AB, B1, B2 horizons increases as age of forest belts increases. Humus content was more than 1% in 1-metre chernozem layer and it slumped with depth. Humic acids (fractions, associated with calcium) dominated in humus, dominated in fulvo acids. In plough-layer of some soil sections higher calcium carbonate content (1.5 – 2%) is marked as a result of alkalinization, a leaching zone is bigger in the carbonate profile part. Humic and fulvo acid ratio was lower in hydromorphic zones, in the humus layers carbon percentage of labile organic substances increased. Changes in the mineral soil part were fixed under bigger age of forest belts: the smectic component decreased in 0-0.05 m layer, it increased at depth of more than 0.1 m; illite content increased in the upper horizon (0-0.2 m), then it decreased downward profile; the amount of medium dust and micaceous component decreased in this layer. The maximal transformation of illite and smectic components in 0 - 0.2 m layer is shown under the 76-aged forest belt. The conclusion of steppe pedogenesis character is made: the last includes illite formation and mechanical weathering of illite granules more than 0.001 E10-6 m. The eluviation, that is mud loss outside the limits of A horizon into subjacent horizons, progresses under forest belts
