To obtain the commercial yield of eggplant fruits on ordinary chernozem, the optimum N : P205 : K20 ratio in mineral fertilizers in 2 : 2 : 1 and their optimum rate is N120PI20K60 under irrigation conditions; on seed-breeding plots, the optimum ratio is 1:2: 2 and the optimum rate is N60P120K120. The application of bacterial fertilizers containing active strains of associative nitrogen fixers B-6 and B-8 significantly increased the yield of marketable eggplant fruits and seeds. The effect of strains B-8 and B-6 was conventionally equivalent to the nitrogen rates of 66.5 and 37.7 kg/ha, respectively. The optimum rate of mineral fertilizers in combination with bacterial fertilizers was N60PI20K60, and their optimum ratio was 1 : 2 : 1 for any growing purpose. In the commercial plantations of eggplants, the optimum content of available phosphorus in the soil was 60-65 mg/kg soil. To increase the phosphate content in soil by 10 mg/kg, 65 kg/ha phosphoric fertilizers is required. The optimum N-N03 content in the 0- to 60-cm layer before the transplanting of seedlings in commercial planta¬tions was 160 kg/ha. To increase it by 10 kg/ha, 12.5 kg of fertilizer nitrogen is required.
