In this paper there are presented the influence and level of influence of various factors on the quality of forage feeds and modern technologies to obtain high quality and maximal preservation of nutrients in conserved feeds. The quality of feed of plant origin depends on many factors, which may be changed to a certain degree depending on economic evaluation and natural circumstances. The information about these factors is very important for quantity and quality of plant feedstuffs. In the process of preparation of forages today numerous modern technologies are used: chemical conservation of hay and addition of bacterial-enzymatic inoculants during ensiling. Due to many factors involved the quality of forages is impossible to quantify. The exception is ensiled forages for which a number of official methods are used to evaluate the quality. However, such an evaluation is only a measure of feed availability, and not necessarily of its nutritive value.
