The organized selectioning in beekeeping in Vojvodina started just few years ago. The earlier process of bee selecting was connected to possibilities and entusiasm of individuals. The bees are selected by basic selecting services, controlled by 13 regional services in Vojvodina. There are two types of bees in Vojvodina: in 2004 was founded Center for Selection Apis mellifera carnica banatica in Vrsac where is selection program under the role of legislative (Officiale gazete No 21, 1996) and under the control of Department for Beekeeping of Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade. Apis mellifera carnica and Apis mellifera carnica banatica, the variant of Apis mellifera carnica. During bee selectioning we watch the next production parameters: production of honey, the speed of spring development, the aggresivness, tha calm in hive, the impulse for swarming and instinct for ceeping the hive cleen.
