Soybean crops in Serbia are attacked by over 90 pest species. Among them 83% belong to insects and rest to other animals. Phytophagous species are present during whole growing season and feed on all plant parts: root, stem, leaves, flowers and pods with seeds. Among detected harmful insects, economically and potentially important at the beginning of the season could be the following species: wireworms, white grubs, seed maggot etc. On leaves and generative organs the most harmful insect pests are the following: bugs, caterpillars of different Noctuids, painted lady, lima bean pod borer etc.
