This paper presents the data on the qualitative composition of different grass species cultivated in the aim of grass cover establishment on fly-ash stock piles of the thermoelectric power station. The substrate has the favourable reaction for plant survival, and that it is well supplied with some macroelements (K, Ca, Mg), but with nitrogen and phosphorus very low. The content of microelements, indicates the good conditions for plant growing, except that of available boron, the concentrations of which are very heterogeneous and range from very low to toxic. The concentrations of elements in grasses are in harmony with the contents in the soil and they are generally within the limits of normal values.
