A new pest species in vineyards, the vine leafhopper Scaphoideus titanus is recorded in Serbia. To date, remarkable populations of this leafhopper have been found on several localities. Records are suggesting that S. titanus is widespread in central and southern regions. Apperance of S. titanus on locality Tules (Aleksandrovac) has been followed by presence of vine phytoplasma Flavescence doree which confirms that this dangerous disease is transmitting by this leafhopper.
