Resistance to Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei and Pyrenophora teres Drechs. in F2 generation of crosses between susceptible H. vulgare and resistant wild species was evaluated. The spring barleys V2-1, V2-F6-3, V2-4, SK-5451, SK-5526, Sk-5104, SK-5184, variety Ezer (SK-4970) and the wild barley Hordeum vulgare ssp. agriocrithon (Aberg.) were employed for hybridisation. 10 fragments of leaves from each spring barley and of the hybrid combination for testing against B. graminis and P. teres were used. The leaves were inoculated with three cultures of B. graminis (total virulent against all specific genes of resistance) and with P. teres mixture isolates from various geographical regions in the Slovak Republic. The reaction to different cultures of B. graminis was evaluated by percentage of attacked leaf area. In the F2 generation of hybrids, higher resistance against B. graminis than maternal genotypes in of 4 hybrid combination was determined. The reaction to mixture isolates P. teres by pointwise scale 1-4 (1- high resistance, 4- susceptible) was evaluated. The hybrids with higher resistance and resistance level against P. teres than some maternal genotypes was determine.
