Dynamics of occurrence of cercospora leaf spot - Cercospora beticola - and efficacy of chemical protection

In years 2000 - 2004, the dynamics of the Cercospora beticola occurrence and its influence on production factors of sugar beet were evaluated in locality Bucany. The first symptoms of the disease were recorded from first decade of July to the first decade of August. During July and August, the contribution of infested plants achieved 100%, the maximum of leaf damage achieved 83.75%. The efficacy of fungicide Alert achieved 52.98-100%. The chemical protection in five years average increased the yield of roots by 5.03 t per ha, the content of sugar by 0.52 deg S, the obtaining of white sugar by 0.49%, the yield of polarized sugar by 0.98 t per ha and the yield of white sugar by 0.84 t per ha.
