Seasonal dynamics of the diameter increment at different stem height of silver fir in a stand with low thinning
2005
Knott, R.,Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry, Brno (Czech Republic)
In the course of the growing season of 200 l changes were studied in the diameter increment of selected sample trees of silver fir in a mixed stand using mechanical girth dendrometers in different stem heights. Within the selected heights differences were determined both in the dynamics of increment and in its total size. Maximum of increment was recorded in 2001 vegetation season in the lower part of the stem. This distribution of diameter increment could be caused by trees age, climate conditions, previous stand development (stand tending)and by current stand structure.
