Ten genera, 30 species of Crotoneae, Euphorbiaceae in Thailand, were examined for its morphology and chromosome number. The floral bud used for chromosome preparations were collected from the field. Microsporocytes were determined at diakinesis, first metaphase and first anaphase stages. The chromosome numbers range from 2n=16 to 100, nine species in Mallotus (2n=20-24), seven species in Croton (2n=16-20), seven species in Macaranga (2n=22) and a species in Alchornea (2n=18), Cladogynos (2n=22), Claoxylon (2n=ca.100), Cnesmone (2n=36), Endospermum (2n=ca.46), Homonoia (2n=44) and Sumbaviopsis (2n=22) are counted. Chromosome number of 26 species are recorded for the first time. The plants all have bivalent and diploid chromosome number except Claoxylon and Endospermum are polyploidy.
