Tulip anthracnose
1941
Tompkins, C.M.; Hansen, H.N., California Agricultural Experiment Station, California (USA)
Tulip anthracnose occurs at Burlingame, Calif. Symptoms consist of elliptical lesions which at first are water-soaked, but later become dry and covered with fruiting bodies. Infection of the varieties Rey. H. Eubank and Zwanenburg was obtained in 7 to 10 days by atomizing the plants with a water suspension of spores. The varieties Clara Butt and Fantasy appear to be immune in the field and in the greenhouse. The name Gloeosporium thumenii Sacc. f. tulipae forma nov. is proposed.
