Effect of chemical weed control on productivity of spring forage forage pea (Pisum sativum L.)

The study was conducted at the Institute of Forage crops - Pleven on slightly leached chernozem with a natural background of weed infestation during the 2006-2007 period. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of chemical control on weed infestation degree and productivity of spring forage pea. As a result of the study it was found that: Under the influence of competitive weed effect in the concrete conditions of this study the grain yield from spring forage pea was reduced by 27%; Under a mixed type of infestation with annual weeds the highest herbicidal efficacy (83-97%) was achieved by treatment with Diflufenican 500 g/l (Pelican 50SC) at the dose of 100 ml/ha a.i. after sowing before emergence in system with Propaquizafop 100 g/l (Agil 100 EC) at the dose of 80 ml/ha at the 3-5 leaf stage of pea and with Меtribuzin 700 g/kg (Zino 70WP) at the dose of 420 g/ha a.i. in combination with Propaquizafop 100 g/l (Аgil 100ЕC) - 80 ml/ha applied during vegetation at the same stage; The chemical weed control resulted in an increase of grain productivity of spring forage pea by 22 to 35%.
