Sixteen acid-souble (free) nucleotides in the lung of calves from the Black-and-White and the Bulgarian Brown cattle breeds were found by the two-way paper chromatography method. The quantity of adenosine- and guanodine-diphoshate nucleotides was significantly higher (P0.001) in comparison with that of tri- and monophosphate nucleotides in both studied breeds. The total quantity of adenosine and guanodine nucleotides was significantly higher (P0.001) in the lungs of the calves from the Black-and-White breed in comparison with that of the calves from the Bulgarian Brown breed. It was obtained that the quantity of uridine monophoshate nucleotide was significantly (P0.001) higher in comparison with the quantity of the tri- and diphosphate nucleotides in the lungs of the calves from the Black-and-White breed. The quantity of uridine diphosphate nucleotide was significantly lower (P0.05) in comparison with that of tri- and monophosphate nucleotides in the lungs of the calves from the Bulgarian Brown breed. The total quantity of uridine nucleotides was significantly higher (P0.001) in the lungs of the calves from the Black-and-White breed in comparison with that of the calves from the Bulgarian Brown breed. It was found that the quantity of the uridine diphosphate sugars was significantly higher (P0.05 , P0.001) in the lungs of the calves from the Black-and-White breed in comparison with that of the calves from the Bulgarian Brown breed.
