The effect of oganic and mineral amendments on the activity of soil microbial communities in mines was examined. Population dynamics of the studied soil microorganisma in clays indicated that different groups dominated at different stages of the organic material decomposition. Plant residues added enhanced the development of all studied microorganisms. Alfalfa residues added without mineral nitrogen activated to the greatest extent the development of the studied soil microorganisms, belonging to the zymogenic microflora.
