The F1 lambs used in this study were a result of the scheme female North-East Bulgarian fine fleece breed NE x male Mouton Charollais MS. The lambs were fattened up to pre-slaughter body weight of 35 kg. The results showed that the growth intensity of F1 lambs was equal to the growth of lambs from the purebred Mouton Charollais breed and with 3.8% higher than that for the base. The F1 Charollais lambs were at a medium position in terms of the weight of the warm body, cooled body and carcass yield . The lowest fat content was observed in the meat of the purebred Sharole lambs, and a higher intensity of colouring for the F1 lambs. For most of the traits the F1 crosses were found to be superior to the arithmetic mean values of both parental forms.
