[Efficiency of field selection combined with in vitro plant propagation during high quality seed potato production]

Long-term research directed to improvement of parent plants selection scheme for their transfer to in vitro culture with following accelerated propagation enabled to draw a conclusion about preliminary field assessment preference. It based on analysis of plant fertility and variety uniformity and use of modern diagnostic methods of potato pathogens. Improved selection scheme is intended for search of initially healthy plant material instead of its rehabilitation and enables production of parent lines in pure culture in the course of 2 years. The basic advantages of the given work are the following: selection of initial parent plants in field nursery of tests of clones with use of modern diagnostics on viruses, bacterioses and VVKK content excludes sick material until introduction to in vitro culture; the field estimation of efficiency and belonging to varieties based on careful morphological supervision, allows to select not only the most productive plants, but also authentically corresponded to the given variety; the field estimation of clones with use of the most precise diagnostics of the laboratory analysis, allows to allocate enough initial material, suitable for transfer into sterile culture and further propagation; the timely beginning of selection allows to receive tuber material for transfer to experimental bases in year of inclusion of variety into the State Registry
