[Reproductive performance of sows of different genotypes depending on the age and farrowing season in the conditions of the industrial complex]

Reproductive performance abilities of sows of different genotypes (Large White breed (25%); Large White x Belarusian meaty (16%); Yorkshire x Belarusian meaty (13%), Large White x Landrace (7,4%) and Landrace x Belarusian meaty (8,5%)) depending on their age and farrowing season in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus were studied. All studied sows showed high performance abilities (total number of newborn piglets, number of alive newborn piglets, number of weaning piglets, litter size and piglet viability by weaning period). The highest indices of multiple fetation (10,38 and 10,32 heads) and number of piglets by weaning period (10,0 and 10,06 heads) were stated for the breeds of Large White and inbreeds of Large White x Belarusian meaty. Inbreeds of Large White x Landrace showed lower indices of multiple fetation on 0,26-0,88% and lower litter size by weaning period on 1,6-6,2 kg in comparison with other studied breeds. First-litter sows showed lower indices of reproductive capacity except sows of genotypes of Yorkshire x Belarusian meaty and Large White x Landrace which showed higher indices after the first farrowing than after the second one. The majority of studied sows showed the highest indices of reproduction after the 4-5 farrowing. Research results did not show any significant differences in sows performance abilities depending on the farrowing season
