The paper deals with historical development of floodplain forests in the area of Vrapac National Nature Reserve in the floodplain of the Morava River (Protected Landscape Area Litovelske Pomoravi, Czech Republic). The aim of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of the anthropogenic influences that have over centuries led to the present state of floodplain forests in the study area. Thus, it will be possible to define more efficiently the management plan of this floodplain forest ecosystem.
