Effect of feeding crude aflatoxin or T2 toxin either singly and in combination at 3 ppm and 4 ppm levels respectively was studied from hatch to 35 days of age. Forty Japanese quails were randomly allotted to four groups of 10 each, i.e., control, AF, T, and AF-T2. Significant (P0.01) reduction in the body weight gain was observed from the second week onwards in all the toxin fed birds. The feed consumption was affected significantly (P0.01), but not the feed conversion. The packed cell volume, haemoglobin and total erythrocyte counts were also decreased significantly (P0.05) in all the toxin fed groups. The anaemia observed was normocytic normochromic type.
