To study effect of drought stress on sorghum collection national gene bank of iran , 127 accessions with 4 local check were planted in year 2003 in augment design in agriculture and natural resources research station of zahak-zabol .Descriptive statistic analysis showed traits yield , stem diameter , panicle length and 100 seed weight had the highest coefficient variation among traits . Simple correlation coefficient showed positive and significant relation between yield and stem diameter ,length panicle and day number to flowering .Regression analysis by method backward define stem diameter and length panicle remained in final model .Factor analysis had indicated 3 factors defined the most variance among traits (%72).Cluster analysis by method ward separated all collection to 4 groups but cluster analysis by traits , theire had the most coefficient variation , collection divided to 2 groups. Results of second year indicated to significant difference among germplasms and means comparison showed in stress condition ( TN-0086 , TN-0109 ) and in normal condition (KC-90016) had the highest yield .Germplasms evaluation ,from aspect of tolerance to drought indexes indicated , STI , GMP and MP had the most significant correlation coefficient with yield in stress and non – stress condition , thenThis indexes help to do separate of tolerant germplasms.
