2007

In this research ,in order to obtain new cold resistant and late flowering almond varieties with desirable pomological and vegetative characteristics, and suitable nut characteristics,1120 hybrids were studied during 2003,2004and2006. Seeds were collected from crossed mother trees were planted in plastic vases after passing stratification stages. After one year the seedlings to evaluate were transferred to the orchard. IBPGR descriptors used to evaluate more than 40 phenotypic characteristics. In various phonological stages of hybrids trees, many vegetative and reproductive traits and nut characters, such as date of blooming, corolla shape, petal color, length and width of leaf, nut weight, kernel doubling, kernel weight, petiole length, present of hairs on leaf surface and etc were measured and recorded in orchard and laboratory. The results revealed several superior late-flowering hybrids which flowers very late. Only76 hybrids out of 1120 hybrids didn&rsquot damage by late frost spring at same conditions in 2005.From among 76 cold resistance and late flowering hybrids, 25superior hybrids for future study have been selected. In report, the promising, cold resistant hybrids and their phonological and pomological characteristics has been described. In this research was not found the correlation between seed germination of hybrids and the thier flowering time (-115).
