Impact of Industrial Complex on Rural Poverty

In this research, 164 active industrial estates of those under the jurisdication and monitoring of the ministry of Jihad-e- Sazandegi and current Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture have been studied. Information was gathered from 1419 workshop in differing condition of activity- 312 active, 471 under construction, 560 not operating, and 76 closed. Results show that the activities have been in line with achieving the anticipated objectives of the programmes, although they are still some distance away in terms of utilizing maximum capacities. The program has had an undeniable impact on the reduction of rural poverty through employment and income generation in rural areas. This research reflects the increasing growth trend of food industries, wich have, by nature, the greatest reliane on the agriculture sector and on rural areas. Compared to other production groups, food industries have also enjoyed noteworthy prosperity and an acceptable growth trend. On the other hand, production groups such as textiles have in comparison with other production groups met considerable problem in rural areas, resulting in halting of activity, closure and a decreasing growth trend.
