This study was conducted in an attempt to develop poultry probiotics. In first step lactic acid bacteria were isolated from digestive tract of poultry. Total of 659 isolates of lactic acid bacteria were examined for inhibition growth of some pathogenic bacteria. Probiotic properties like tolerance of low pH, growth in presence of bile salts and hydrophobicity were examined for all 139 isolates of lactic acid bacteria, which had inhibitory effects against tested pathogens. Three of the best isolates which had the higher values, were selected and identified at species level using the API 50 CH system. These bacteria identified as: Pediococcus pentosaceus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
