Iran is located in semiarid region and with low precipitation. In pistachio producing area, especially in Kerman province, rainfall is more restricted. Thus, water resource scarcity is an obstacle for agricultural development in these regions. One alternative for reducing the gap between supply and demand in pistachio producing area in Kerman province is the expansion of pressurized irrigation systems. In this research, using survey method, socio-economic factors influencing on acceptance of these systems were investigated. Random sampling was used for collecting data from pistachio producing of Kerman province. In this regard, all of pistachio producers who had applied pressurized irrigation systems (48 farmers) were considered as sample study. Twenty seven percent of these growers (13) had abandoned these systems before completing the questionnaire. Also 48 pistachio producers, who had not used pressurized systems at all, were chosen randomly for comparison. For analyzing data, SPSS package was used. The results showed that 66 percent of variations of dependent variable (dummy variable of acceptance or non acceptance of pressurized systems) were explained by acreage, educations, the number of growers and soil texture. The results also showed that factors such as acreage and water salinity explain 21 percent of variations of dependent dummy variable irrigation system abandonment.
