Ten F2 intraspecific cross combinations derived from genetically diverse genotypes were estimated for genetic selection parameters. All the F2 populations along with their respective parents were laid out in three replications in Randomized Complete Block. Design during 2003-04. The mean values of all the genotypes differed significantly (P less than or equal to 0.01) for all the characters understudy viz. number of sympodial branches per plant, boll weight, number of bolls per plant and seed cotton yield The results indicated that the hybrid FH-901 x Cedix produced significantly higher yield with maximum number of bolls per plant and higher boll weight followed by NIAB-78 x Cedix. The progeny FH-901 x LRA-5166 showed high heritability and high genetic advance for seed cotton yield. Also NIAB-78 x Cedix performed better for number of bolls per plant and seed cotton yield.
