This research was carried out at the Agricultural Research Farm of NWFP Agricultural University, Peshawar during the year 2000-01. Sixteen lines and four varieties of wheat were included in the experiment. The experiment was laid out in RCB design with four replications. A maximum day to 50% heading (124.75) was taken by genotype V2P8 while minimum days to 50% heading 113.50 was observed in the variety Bakhtawar-92. Maximum flag leaf area of 26.42 cm2 was found in the wheat genotype V2P7, while minimum flag leaf area of 15.70 cm2 was recorded in wheat genotype V3P15. Maximum plant height of 110.50 cm was found in the wheat genotype V1P17 while minimum plant height of 70.00 cm was recorded in wheat variety Bakhtawar-92. Maximum spike length of 9.85 cm was found in case of genotype V2P15 and minimum spike length (6.77 cm) in Bakhtawar-92. Maximum number of tillers per plant (4.75) was found in K-Wal while minimum number of tillers per plant (3.05) was found in genotype V1P8. Maximum number of spikelets per spike (9.85) was recorded in wheat genotypes V2P5, V1P17 and Pirsabak-85 (P-85) while minimum number of spikelets per spike (6.77) were recorded in Bakhtawar-92. Maximum grain yield 750kg per ha was found in P-85 and in genotype V1P6, while genotype V2P8 gave the minimum grain yield of 393.8kg per ha.
