This paper presents an analysis of the relationship between the yielding of blackcurrant, varieties Mendip Cross and Roodknop and the air temperature and rainfall in April and May, this is the period when blossoming, pollination and fertilization usually takes place in Warmia and Mazury (Poland). The experiment covered the years from 1985 to 1993. It included an analysis of the effect of minimum temperatures in April and May, measured at 5 cm and 2 m above ground level, the sum of daily temperatures and rainfall during the blossoming period. It was found that over a period of 9 years a higher average yield was obtained from the bush of the Roodknop variety. In the years when the yield was smaller, the vegetation and blossoming started later, the temeratures were lower and frost and precipitation occurred during the blossoming period. The Mendip Cross variety responded with increased yield to the increase in temperature at 5 cm above the ground. The rainfall during the blossoming period reduced the yield in both cases
