The aim of the present study was to determine the production efficiency in young growing pigs fed two complete diets: a control cereal-soybean diet, and an experimental diet containig 0.015 percent sodium saccharinate. The experiment lasted 28 days, and was performed on 12 growing pigs aged 8 weeks, with initial body weights of approx. 17 kg. The pigs were hybrids produced by mating F1 sows (Polish Large White x Polish Landrace) to Duroc boars. The animals were allocated to two equal experimental groups and placed in individual flat-deck boxes. It was found that sodium saccharinate had no statistically significant effect on the performance of growing pigs. Very good production results were obtained in both groups. Mean daily gains were 850 and 862 g respectively, and feed conversion was 1.92 and 1.96 kg/kg
