In this research we investigated antibacterial and antifungal activities of limonene against 7 bacterial and 19 fungal species. Antibacterial activity and Candida albicans were investigated by on TLC plates, while antifungal activity was tested by micro- and macrodilution tests. Limonene showed antimicrobial activities against all microorganisms tested. The best results were obtained against Micrococcus luteus, Streptococcus epidermidis, S. aureus and Salmonella typhimurium, in concentration of 5 microl. Limonene exhibited antifungal activity in concentration of 8.0 - 13.0 microl/ml in microdilution and 6.0-10.0 microl/ml in microdilution method.
