During three years of research (2003-2005), the impact of fertilizing and irrigation on biological and technological characteristics of the red grape vine variety Vranac has been analyzed. The research took place in the locality of Ljeskopolje vineyard in Podgorica region, Montenegro. During this period, the climatic conditions were satisfactory for vine growth. Eight different methods of fertilizing were applied (control, NPK 8:16:24, cattle-fertilizer, poultry-fertilizer, peat soil and mix of these organic fertilizers). It was set up as a double trial, which means one part of the trial was irrigated and the other was not. Applied fertilizers made positive influence on substance of nitrogen in leaves, while substance of phosphorus and potassium was below optimal measures of red grape. All variety of fertilizing in global measures for vegetative period had bigger substance of nitrogen and potassium in the irrigated part of trial in comparison of the other part of the trial, without irrigated. Substance of potassium in leaves insignificantly varied, depends of variety of fertilizing, as well as irrigation. Quantity growth by variety of fertilizing was satisfactory and on the level of red grape Vranac. Irrigation was positively influences on these indicators of growth. A content of sugar and acid in fermented vine was characteristic for trialed sort of red grape in the region of Podgorica vineyard. On the irrigated part of the trial both indicators of the quality of the grape had bigger values in comparison with non-irrigated part of the trial.
