The study was conducted during three years interval. The degree of larval reduction has been established according to pre and post treatment sampling performed by standard procedure using deepers of the same water volume. The abundance of larvae in samples enabled the calculation of achieved mortality. The product used to control larvae was an microbial agent Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. israelensis (Bti) produced in the formulation of ice granules. The application of ice granules accomplished an average reduction of larval population of 95.8%. The result demostrate that effective mosquito control providing that the larval breeding sites are treated could be practiced since the adult Culex pipiens pipiens air treatments fail to be suffeciently effective. The abundance and adult mosquito species composition has been established with CO2 traps monitoring program. According to the pre and post sample size of trapped mosquitoes, evaluation of the population reduction was calculated. The control of adult mosquitoes has been done in recent years solely with insecticide lambda-cyhalotrine in the ULV formulation. During larval control the rate of the product applied by helicopter was controlled by the quantity of the larvicide that reached the site of the treatment. The size of the treated surface was established by GPS device. Analyses of the number and droplet density correlated to the mosquitoes mortality exposed to the treatment in WHO cages, demonstrate that over 80% of effectiveness could be achieved with 24 droplets/square cm. Lesser number of droplets (17 droplets/square cm) could not provide satisfactory mortality rate. Out of 199 control stations where reduction of Aedes and Ochlerotatus genera was monitored pre and post lambda-cyhalotrine adulticide air treatment, only at 76 stations an acceptable level of control was accomplished. In the programs of urban mosquitoes (Culex pipiens pipiens) the efficient adult control was even of inferior quality. The satisfactory reduction of the initial mosquito population was obtained at 50 out of 199 stations.
