There was studied the content of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and chlororganic pesticides DDT and GHCG in agricultural soils, cow milk and chicken eggs. Samples were selected in 2001-2005 in the atmospheric effect zones of industrial enterprises in the Irkutsk region. The distribution of PCB in the regional soils was provided with the presence of the source of their arrival in the atmosphere. The concentrations of PCB in soils were exceeded about 2000 times compared with background. The concentration of PCB in soils of cultivated pastures was less than in the soils adjacent territories due to mixing soil. As far as the source of contamination was distanced the content of PCB in soil decreased and mostly did not exceed the allowable concentration. The amount of DDT and GHCG in agricultural soils depended on how intensive these pesticides were used in the past. The content in milk of PCB varied from 1.33 to 18.9 in spring samples and from 0.46 to 14.6 in autumn samples. In hen eggs the content of PCB varied from 3.11 to 155.00, GHCG – 0.32-39.00, DDT – 1.15-52.00 nano grame/grame lipids. When keeping animals providing their contact with soil, milk and eggs can serve indicators of soil contamination and atmosphere with stable organic pollutants. To reduce their content in agricultural animals it should if possible eliminate the contamination sources, take measure to clean soils and restrict the contact of animals with contaminated soil.
