Ultrasonic methods of measuring the air flow are described. The velocity of a flow of air must be regulated in spaces where the draught-proof ventilation is required, such as in animal husbandry or food production. Draught is a serious indoor-climate problem. Ultrasonic anemometers are measuring devices suitable to measure low velocities of the air flow in draught-proof air distribution systems. They are able to measure with low treshold value, high resolution, high accuracy and high frequency rate. Utilization of some special ultrasonic transducers, called reciprocal, makes it possible to transmit and receive an ultrasonic pulse by the same transducer.
