Actual content of watersoluble fluorine and its development in the soils of Aluminium plant surroundings in Žiar nad Hronom is described in this contribution. Evaluation of soil contamination by fluorine is coming out from hygienic soil survey in 2006 year. Watersoluble fluorine in soil has been measured by the help of ionselective electrode (Fiala et al. 1999). Fluorine has been analysed in topsoil (0-10 cm) and in subsoil (35-45 cm), as well. On the basis of obtained results it was found out that total 624 ha of agricultural soils are contamined by fluorine at present unlike the emission situation is sufficient already. In this continuity also the content of fluorine in soil is slightly decreasing (about 3-4 % yearly). In relation to this fact, especially in the most polluted area (where measured values of watersoluble fluorine are often 5-times over valid hygienic limit) on the basis of present F development in soil it could be presupposed a natural length of remediation for about 25-30 years.
