In this paper are presented results of status and development of active aluminium in agricultural land of Slovakia. Active aluminium content has been observed in the frame of Partial monitoring system - Soil, creating by basic monitoring network and key monitoring sites. The soil samples were collected from the depth 0-0.10 m in 1993,1997 and 2002 years. Active aluminium content (in soil samples with pH value in KCI lower than 6.0, n=116), basic cation Ca sup(2+), pH value in KCI and Corg were determined (Fiala et al, 1999). Active aluminium content (status in 2002 year) moves from 1.06 to 963.40 mg.kg sup(-1)).The highest average active aluminium content was measured in Haplic Podzols group (permanent grassland) in the depth of 0 - 0.10 m (661.35 mg.kg sup(-1)). The lowest average value was measured in non-calcerous Mollic Fluvisols group (arable land). Increasing of aluminium (between 1993 and 2002 years) content were recorded in the case of Haplic Podzols group (permanent grassland), Cambisols developed on Flysh belt and Dystric Fluvisols (both arable land). From the viewpoint of Spearman correlation analyses active aluminium content was in relation with pH in KCI (r = -0.76) as well as with Cox (r = 0.60). Relation between Al sup(3+)/Ca sup(2+) indicates degree of soil degradation. Unsuitable relations were determined in Gleyic Stagnosols group and Dystric Fluvisols group (both arable land). A methodological process of selective sequential extraction according to Zeien and Brummer has been used for two key localities (Cambisols). Aluminium is bound with relative high share on Fe oxides as well as in residual fraction. The mobile fraction is very important in the view of plant uptake. In spite of relatively low content in % of total content relation between Al sup(3+)/Ca sup(2+) were higher than 1.0 for both localities.
