Kraft pulp from Kanchong was bleached by Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleaching using the sequence DPDP and by Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) bleaching using the sequence OPP and PP to obtain the highest brightness, high quality pulp and reduce environmental problems. The DPDP bleached pulp has the highest brightness 89 percent ISO. The OPP bleached pulp is the second 77 percent ISO and the PP bleached pulp is the lowest 66-68 percent ISO. Bleached pulps that was produced have good strength properties and are suitable for printing and writing paper production.
