Objective was to study factors affecting production efficiency, which were total piglet born (TPB), number of dead (Dead), number of mummy (MM), number of abnormal piglet (ABN), total born alive (TBA), and average birth weight (ABW) of Large White (Y), Pietrain (P), Landrace (L), crossbred between Y and P (YP), crossbred between P and Y (PY), crossbred between L and P (LP), and crossbred between P and L (PL). All animals (1,794 heads) are negative halothane, and they were raised under an opened-house system. Parity and breed group were statistically tested for their effects on variation of production efficiency. Least square means for the studied traits separated by categories of the considering factors were tested for statistical significance using t-test. The results revealed that parity had influence on TPB, TBA, Dead, MM, and ABN (P LT 0.05). Breed group had effect on TPB, TBA, and ABN. Different mating types between the purebreds (L x P, P x L, P x Y and Y x P) could be resulted in different production efficiency of the crossbreds. Crossbred from using P as dam (LP and YP) had more production efficiency for TPB and TBA than those crossbred from using P as sire (PL and PY) except for Dead, MM, ABN, and ABW, which were up to the used sire-breed (Y or L). These results imply chance to improve production efficiency by genetic and farm managements.
