Sago palm forests are currently facing threats of destruction from various development schemes in rural areas. The studies of Participatory Management on Sago Palm Forest of Rural Communities revealed that to achieve the goal for sustaining the sago lands have to have strongly cooperate among owners, consumers, academics, extension workers, community authorities, government organizations, NGos, universities/schools and mass medias. The production of sago products in rural areas had to have some interactions among research for local wisdom and modern technology, extension activities, inputs supply, marketing and controls. The studies helped researchers, rural people and other parties involved know more on sago palm, sago land in Nakhon Sithammarat and it's utilization, aware threats from human doing, understand how to sustainably use sago palm and carefully practice on production and management.
