Participation and benefit gained from development and occupation promotion of Tambon administration organization (TAO): Case of Phichai TAO Amphour Muang Lampang | การมีส่วนร่วมและผลประโยชน์ที่ประชาชนได้รับจากการพัฒนาและส่งเสริมอาชีพขององค์การบริหารส่วนตำบล(อบต.): กรณีศึกษา อบต. พิชัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำปาง

Objectives of this research were to find the procedure of occupational promotion of Phichai TAO, to investigate participation and benefit gained, people satisfaction on an implementation of occupational promotion including problems and obstacles faced by them. The results of the study indicated that the occupational promotion conducted by Phichai TAO in cooperation with various government agencies. These agencies had provided support mainly on trainers. TAO provided production loan without interest. People in study area participated in various activities such as attained village meeting, stated their need on occupational development, attained training course, received no interest loan and gained benefit from loan investment. However, people who excluded in TAO project have low intensity of participation in the last two activities. Those who participated in TAO projects gained both economic and social benefits. The economic benefit included received occupational fund, decrease economic dependency on local lender, received no interest loan, alleviated burden of household expenditure, and gained profit from loan investment. The social benefit includes gained occupational knowledge, an increase of admiration by family members, neighbors and people in the community, a possibility to exchange knowledge with those who were in the same occupation, and an increase in children's education. People participating in TAO projects feel more satisfactory than those who excluded in TAO project on having the chance to participate in various projects, information distribution on occupational training, no interest on loans, information on distribution of credit support, provides training and training courses match with people's needs. Problems faced by those who were not participating in TAO projects included: they have no information on occupational promotion conducted by TAO, some of them did not know how to participate, how to form groups or to ask for support from TAO. For those who participated in TAO projects faced problems on weakness of group relation and uncertain market for non farm product.
