Haemophilus parasuis is the etiological agent of Glasser's disease that 15 serovars have been described, but there are some evident of non-typeable groups derived from the serological method. The PCR-RFLP test based on the tbpA gene was used for identification of H. parasuis in Thailand of the present study. The results showed that all isolates produced an amplification of approximately 1.9 kb in size of all isolates. The PCR products were digested with the restriction endonucleases TaqI, AvaI and RsaI. The twelve samples of H. parasuis in Thailand were isolated and could be divided into 8 RFLP groups. The results indicated two groups out of 8 RFLP patterns that were in the classification of reported by De la Puente Redondo et al. (2003). The left of 6 RFLP groups were not similar with the classified patterns by the previous database. The result revealed H. parasuis that had been found in Thailand posses high variation besides some strains are different from the other regions. However, this study could be used for identification of H. parasuis strains, epidemiological aspect and developing vaccine that would be effective to prevent H. parasuis.
