In Shirak region after potato harvest the lands are ploughed in a traditional way: with the depth of 25-27 centimers for winter wheat sowing. As a result, the clods are to be loosened several times, which is energy consuming and inefficient. The studies have revealed that different ways of soil cultivation did not have any significiant influence on the content of nutrients and volume weight of the soil. The highest harvest has been obtained from the application of the variants of disc-shaped harrowing and chisel plowing of surface cultivation in the event of using 150 kg of nitrogen fertilizers: 49.6-52.9 centner per hectare. So, after potato harvest it is suggested to carry out surface cultivation- either disc-shaped harrowing or chisel plowing - for the winter wheat sowing under the given conditions.
