An experiment with 3 groups of 6 000 Bovans goldine layers in each was carried out to test the effect of photostimulation at end of the egg laying period. For this purpose, the daylight duration in experimental groups (I and II) at the age 48 weeks was extended by 2 and 4 hours, to a duration of 16 and 18 hours respectively, whereas in control (III gr.) it remained constant throughout the entire egg laying period. The photostimulation by extending the daylight hours by 2 or 4 hours at the end of egg laying did not overcome the biological photorefractioness of layer hens and did not after the average egglaying rate and eggs per hen housed.
