The nematicidal potential of the aqueous extracts of tobacco Nicotiana tabacum L. and white falsehellebore Veratrum album L. against Meloidogine incognita Kofoid et White, 1919 and Globodera rostochiensis Woll. 1923 was evaluated in vitro. The plant extracts of the two medicinal plants showed a marked nematicidal activity against juveniles L2 of M. incognita and nematode hatching inhibitory activity against G. rostochiensis. Maximum toxic effect was recorded in the concentration 10 mg/ml after 24 hours exposure of M. incognita juveniles and inhibition to hatching of G. rostochiensis at any concentration after 24 h exposure. Egg hatching of M. incognita was stimulated by 70% to 72.0% at 5 and 10 mg/ml of N. tabacum L. respectively and by 67,979,5% by Veratrum album L. Plant extracts killed juveniles of M. incognita by 90.4% to 99.5%, and by 73.7 to 99.6% after 24 h respectively.
