As a result of the field experiment conducted during the 2004-2006 period in the experimental field of Agricultural Institute in Stara Zagora as well as of the simulation analysis of yield for obtained in the 1946-2006 period it has been established that the yield of the non- irrigation grain maize reaches an average of 5310 kg/ha for the long-year period. Data analysis shows that the crop production is not effective without irrigation. In 60% of the years of 61-year-long period production is at loss. The average yield obtained from grain maize grown under irrigation during the long-term period is 10590 kg/ha and pure income for the same period is 480 BGN/ha, varying between 250 BGN/ha to 760 BGN/ha. The additional pure yield obtained under irrigation is 510 BGN/ha on the average and varies between 120 BGN/ha and 930 BGN/ha. The results are valid for the second agroclimatic group which includes 22 hydromeliorative regions.
