An experiment for estimation of bruising degrees of oat seeds during harvesting and influence of microbruising on their growth activity was carried out during 2005-2008 at the Institute of Agriculture. The type and the degree of microbruising are defined by Pugachov classifier and the growth activity by the method of rulones. It was estimated that the hulled grains are 7,9% of total, followed by damaged coat of endosperm - 1,0%. The comparatively small proportion of the bruised seeds means that oat is a culture which is resistаnte for trauma during harvesting. The results showed that hulled seeds form fewer in number and size embryo rootlets with lower viability and their coleoptile is smaller and nonviable.
