Biodiversity in the forest: perplexed forest owners (essay)
2010
Borboën, D., Chambre des bois de l'Ouest Vaudois, Saint-Livres (Switzerland)
When confronted with biodiversity projects which concern them, forest owners are somewhat perplexed. They already make great efforts to conform to a particularly rigorous forest law and, what is more, a good many of them are certified and conform to even stricter norms. A number of as yet unanswered questions and several predictable pitfalls will without doubt retard the realization of projected measures. The financing, which leaves 30% of the costs to their charge, often without any compensation, is not acceptable in the case of services in the general interest.
