To study the effects of bee pollen on partial biochemical indexes of serum ( cholesterol, triglyceride, and glucose) of hybrid broilers,272 one-day-old hybrid broilers (COBB 1500 ♂ x HISEX ♀ ) were randomly divided into 4 groups, there were 2 repeats in every group and 34 broilers (17 cocks and 17 hens) every repetition. Group I was the contrast group; groups Ⅱ , Ⅲ, Ⅳ were treatment, with 0. 5% ,1.0% and 1.5% bee pollen respectively. At 14, 28 and 42 days old, 8 broilers were randomly selected every group (4 broilers of every repetition), and the contents of cholesterol, triglyceride, and glucose were determined by plucking blood from heart and separating serum. Adding bee pollen with different doses at 2-week-old and 6-week-old, could significantly decrease the content of cholesterol in serum (P 〈 0. 05 ,P 〈 0. 01 ) ; at the same time, the bee pollen at 1.0% dose showed the best effect. Adding bee pollen at 0. 5 % dose decreased (P 〈 0. 05 ) the content of triglyeeride in serum at 2- week-old ; both of the content of triglyceride in serum of the treatment groups were lower (P 〈 0. 01 ) than that of the contrast group at 6-week-old. Adding bee pollen at 1.5%, the content of glucose in serum of IV group was significantly higher (P 〈 0. 05 ) than that of the contrast group at 4-week-old ; both of the content of glucose in serum of the treatment groups were very obviously lower ( P 〈 0. 01 ) than that of the contrast group at 6-week-old. Adding bee pollen at different doses in basal die of hybrid broilers had effects on the content of cholesterol, triglyceride, and glucose in serum of hybrid broilers. Both of the content of cholesterol, triglyceride, and glucose in serum of the treatment groups were significantly lower (P 〈 0.05 ,P 〈 0. 01 ) than that of the contrast group at 6-week-old.
